The Oscar-winning actor Tommy Lee Jones is grieving the sudden death of his younger child, Victoria Jones, who was discovered unresponsive in a San Francisco hotel room on New Year’s Day. She was 34.
A family statement released January 2 reads: “We appreciate all of the kind words, thoughts and prayers. Please respect our privacy during this difficult time. Thank you.”
According to a source who spoke with News Of Losangeles, the Men in Black star, 79, “has continued to keep a low profile” since the tragedy.
“He’s very private and mostly keeps to himself. He only leaves his ranch occasionally for necessary errands. He’s a lifelong Texan at heart,” the source says, noting that Jones spends his time focused on cattle ranching and polo. “He still rides, though less frequently.”

While decades of film work kept Jones in the spotlight, the source adds, “he was never comfortable with the attention. His life now gives him great privacy.”
Authorities have stated they do not suspect foul play in Victoria’s death. An official cause has not yet been determined.
Past Arrests
Court records show Victoria was arrested at least twice in the past year, including one incident involving drug possession.
