A Decade-Old Divorce Turns Deadly
Court records reviewed by News Of Losangeles show Monique Sabaturski married McKee in August 2015. She filed for divorce in June 2017, citing incompatibility while already living apart. The pair had no children together.
Monique later wed Spencer Tepe in 2020. A friend told News Of Losangeles the Tepes remained madly in love and had built a family with two young children.
The Night of the Killings
A friend requested a welfare check after becoming concerned. While waiting outside the house, the friend heard the children crying and alerted 911. Police arrived to find both adults deceased.
The 4- and 1-year-old children were physically unharmed and are now cared for by extended family.
Arrest and Legal Next Steps
McKee, an employee at OSF Saint Anthony Medical Center, was taken into custody in Illinois over the weekend. On January 12, he appeared in court and waived extradition, allowing Ohio authorities to transport him to Franklin County.
His public defender stated McKee plans to plead not guilty.
The medical center released a statement saying it is cooperating with authorities.
Investigators have not disclosed a motive for the shootings.
