Why it matters: The announcement ends speculation over who will steer music’s biggest night and sets the stage for a star-studded broadcast expected to draw millions of viewers.

Comedian Trevor Noah will return to the Grammy stage for the sixth consecutive year, capping his run as host of the 2026 ceremony set for Sunday, Feb. 1, at Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles.

A press release issued ahead of the broadcast confirms the 41-year-old will also serve as executive producer and describes the upcoming show as his “final time” in the role. Noah first took the microphone in 2020 and has fronted every Grammy telecast since.

Kendrick Lamar dominates the nomination tally with nine, the most of any artist this cycle. Lady Gaga and hit-making producers Cirkut and Jack Antonoff each collected seven nods. Bad Bunny, Sabrina Carpenter and Leon Thomas secured six apiece, while Doechii, SZA, Tyler, the Creator, writer-producer Andrew Watt and the Clipse duo of Pusha T & Malice earned five each.

Noah told News Of Losangeles in 2024 he never approaches an awards show-or a stand-up set-without nerves. “I always care what happens. I don’t take anything for granted, and I’m never sure that or how a joke will land,” he said. “You just prepare. You hope for the best. Telling a joke is like jumping out of an airplane with a parachute. You have an idea of where you would like to land, but when you actually get close to the ground, you might be a little bit off from where you intended to be. So I just work my ass off, try and think of the funniest things to say and ways to say them. The rest I leave to God.”

The former Daily Show anchor added that Grammy attendees arrive ready to celebrate, forcing him to steer a lively room. “In a weird way, I’ve come to understand, it’s almost like I’m at a huge party, and I’m trying to work while I’m at the party,” he explained. “And then I’ve also learned to have a good time. It’s one of the best concerts in my opinion. I don’t think there are many shows that can rival what the Grammys puts on in terms of a collection of artists. Where else are you going to get to watch Dua Lipa, Burna Boy, Billie Eilish, you name it, on the same stage? That’s something I don’t take for granted and really enjoy.”

The 2026 Grammy Awards will air live on the CBS Television Network and stream live and on-demand via Paramount+.
