Sharon Stone left the 2026 Astra Awards with more than a trophy. The actress, 67, also went home with Mo, an 8-week-old pit bull mix she met on the red carpet and adopted for her youngest son.
The Red-Court Meeting
Stone received the Timeless Award at the Jan. 9 ceremony in Los Angeles, but her most memorable moment came before she stepped inside. Petco Love, the awards’ charitable partner, had brought adoptable puppies from its shelter partner, The Lovejoy Foundation, to mingle with arriving celebrities.
Mo arrived with two siblings, all survivors of what Petco Love described only as a “dire situation” before rescue. Stone spotted the puppy, posed for photos, and quickly decided Mo would be the perfect pet for Quinn.
A Family Decision
During the awards show, Stone placed a video call to Quinn to secure his approval. After he gave an enthusiastic yes, she told The Lovejoy Foundation the pup had a new home.
> “She’s going to have a great life because she’s going to be my youngest son’s dog. And my youngest son is absolutely thrilled about it,” Stone told Petco Love.
The actress told News Of Losangeles on Jan. 13 that the puppy has already settled in.
> “We love our adorable new puppy. She’s brought a lot of joy, cuddles & fun into our home,” Stone said in a statement to News Of Losangeles.
Fourth Year of Star-Studded Adoptions
This marks the fourth consecutive year that Petco Love has transported adoptable dogs from The Lovejoy Foundation to the Astra Awards. The goal: pair celebrities with pets and showcase shelter animals.
Stone, a long-time adoption advocate, praised the match between kids and pets.
> “I think that dogs and kids go together like peanut butter and jelly,” she added. “I think it’s a good responsibility, and I think it’s a good character building for kids, and it’s really healthy for kids and for families to have pets.”
Puppies Still Waiting
According to Petco Love, Mo’s siblings and other puppies who attended the ceremony remain available through The Lovejoy Foundation. Prospective adopters outside Los Angeles can browse pets at PetcoLove.org.
