Lainey Wilson is finally carving out time to plan her wedding, but the country star candidly admits she and fiancé Devlin “Duck” Hodges are still in the early stages of organizing their big day.
Current Planning Status
“I’ve got a lot to do, I will tell you that. Duck’s like, ‘Are we really getting married?’ I’m like, ‘We are,'” Wilson, 33, told reporters at a recent No. 1 party celebrating her song “Somewhere Over Laredo,” according to a clip posted by Taste of Country.
The “Watermelon Moonshine” singer confirmed the wedding will happen but acknowledged they haven’t nailed down specifics yet. “It’s gonna happen, but we don’t have all the details yet,” she said.
Busy Schedule Delayed Planning
Wilson’s packed calendar contributed to the delay in wedding planning. Her Whirlwind World Tour wrapped its main leg in Orlando, Fla. on Nov. 8, with upcoming shows scheduled in New Zealand and Australia next month.

Wilson previously told News Of Los Angeles in August that while they’ve been “trying to get into the planning stages,” they weren’t rushing the process.
“Man, I tell you what, trying to wrangle me in is, it’s a lot,” Wilson admitted. “But I will say even the hat box situation, he proposed to me with the little hat box, and so just being able to do that and also at the same time be celebrating our engagement and our love, it feels good.”

The Grammy winner identified dress shopping as her immediate priority. “I need to go dress shopping or I need to talk to somebody about making a dress,” she told News Of Los Angeles. “I need to go get fitted. How about that? That’s the first step.”
