Todd Bridges and designer Bettijo B. Hirschi are ending their marriage after a little more than three years. The Diff’rent Strokes alum shared the news on January 14, telling News Of Los Angeles that the pair had made the “difficult decision to separate” following prayer and reflection.

How They Met

The couple’s origin story involved both a mutual friend and a dating app, but not in the usual way. During a December 2024 appearance on the Tamron Hall Show, Hirschi explained that after six months of “bad experiences on the apps,” she swore off online dating. A friend-who also knew Bridges-created her a profile on a different platform for “market research,” showed it to Bridges, and the two soon went on a date themselves.

Hirschi told News Of Los Angeles after their wedding, “I was supposed to actually be setting her up with someone else, but it didn’t go that way. When I met her, I was like, ‘I’m not going to set her up with anyone else. I want her for myself.'”

Fast Courtship and September 2022 Wedding

The relationship moved quickly:

Couple exchanging vows with wedding rings and clock hands symbolizing whirlwind romance
  • Engaged six months after meeting
  • Married three months later in September 2022 at Greystone Mansion & Gardens in Beverly Hills
  • Seventy family members and friends attended, including their combined six children
  • First dance was to Etta James’ “At Last” during a reception at a nearby Italian restaurant

Bridges described his spontaneous beachside proposal: “I’d just all of a sudden decided that I wanted to get married to her and I proposed to her. I got down on one knee and did what I was supposed to do.”

Blended Family and Professional Projects

Together they raised:

  • Hirschi’s four children: Rockwell, Modette, Attalie Anne, and Piper
  • Bridges’ two children: son Spencir and daughter Bo

They also co-hosted the DANG! podcast, featuring candid talks on love, family, anxiety, and addiction.

The Separation Announcement

In his January 14 statement to News Of Los Angeles, Bridges said:

He added, “I thank God for the time we’ve had together, the lessons we’ve learned, and the family we’ve built. Even in this season of change, I trust He is guiding us both toward healing, peace, and new beginnings.”

Bridges requested privacy and pledged continued prayers for his former partner, wishing them “joy and fulfillment in the chapters ahead.”
