Jenny Winters, wife of retired New York Jets offensive guard Brian Winters, says the NFL’s random drug-testing program once interrupted the couple’s wedding day.

In a TikTok video posted Jan. 13, Jenny-who calls herself a “retired WAG” and hosts a podcast-claimed league testers arrived at the couple’s venue after Brian informed them he was getting married that morning.

Wedding-Day Interruption

“One thing about the NFL: they are gonna drug test you whenever and literally wherever they please,” she told viewers, adding that testers carry “a big briefcase full of drug-testing accoutrement” and can appear anywhere in the country.

Jenny recalled that Brian received the call shortly before the ceremony:

  • He told testers, “I’m literally getting married today.”
  • They replied, “Great, send us the address. We’ll be there.”
  • Testers collected a urine sample while a chaperone observed

The wedding took place in July, outside of football season, and Brian passed, Jenny said.

Previous Surprise Test

Jenny mentioned a second surprise test months earlier. After Brian posted a video pulling three Ford pickup trucks, a tester showed up at their home the next day, she claimed.

Commenters on her post joked that the league “saw him do something strong” and dispatched a collector. Jenny responded with laughing emojis and confirmed both tests were clean.

She also agreed with a commenter who wrote that they “have zero problems” with the NFL’s testing protocol.

League Policy

According to the NFL Players Association website:

  • Every player receives one annual test
  • Players “may be tested up to six times” randomly
  • After notification from Drug Free Sport, athletes have 24 hours to provide a sample

Jenny emphasized that the wedding incident illustrates how strictly the policy is enforced regardless of personal milestones.

Key Takeaways

  • NFL random testing can occur any day of the year, including major life events
  • Retirees remain subject to testing if they haven’t filed official retirement paperwork
  • Players must comply within 24 hours of notification
