Mary Cosby broke her silence on the bombshell claims aired in TLC’s The Cult of the Real Housewife, telling Bravo’s Andy Cohen that the documentary “hurt me, of course,” while insisting supporters will ultimately learn “the truth.”
The three-part series, which premiered after The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City reunion on January 20, traces the rise of Cosby’s Faith Temple Pentecostal Church and paints a picture of alleged financial abuse and psychological control. During the reunion taping, Cohen pressed the 53-year-old reality star for a response.
Cosby Responds On-Air
“It hurt me, of course,” Mary told Cohen. “Definitely hurt me. But I’ve been through a lot, Andy. I’m pretty tough. So, it hurt, and it just got put in the pile of all the rest of the things that hurt me.”
When asked about the wave of viewer support on social media, she replied, “That felt good. I’m thankful for that. They’ll see the truth.”
Cosby suggested the church drew attention because Utah residents “are not used to a Pentecostal church” or “a Black church,” adding, “I have no idea” why the congregation became a focal point.
Inside the Docuseries Claims
The Cult of the Real Housewife features multiple ex-members who describe unpaid labor and intense financial pressure:
- Rosalind Enoch says she lived with Mary and husband Robert Cosby Sr. starting in 2000, working full-time as housekeeper and errand-runner without wages. “In the five years that I worked for Robert and Mary, I was never paid,” she states in the series. “It was more like a slave plantation.”
- Susie Tunson alleges her sister Pat Tunson worked in the Cosby home for decades. Rosalind claims the couple told Pat, “You’re a slave. You’re going to work here until you die, because if you don’t, you’re going to hell.” Pat died in 2024 at 81 while still employed by the Cosbys, according to the program.
- Susie says she was expelled from the church after urging her brother to curb his donations and was barred from Pat’s funeral. “It was one last assault they could put on me,” she says.
- Mary’s cousin Dan Cosby and former member Ernest Enoch repeat claims-attributed to the late Cameron Williams-that Williams and Mary had an extramarital affair.
Previous Denial
At BravoCon 2025 in November, Mary labeled the project “sad and a shame” and “not true,” though she has not addressed each specific accusation. Representatives for both Mary and Robert Sr. have not responded to recent requests for comment from News Of Los Angeles.
