A thief broke into a Woodland Hills card shop early Thursday, taking $30,000 of sports and Pokémon cards.

Incident Details
The break‑in occurred around 5 a.m. on the corner of an outdoor mall off the 101 Freeway and Mulholland Drive. Owners say the thief first entered Medoncino Farms next door, broke a hole in the wall, and then forced his way into Cards & Coffee.
Inside the store, thieves stole a range of collectibles, including Kobe, LeBron, and Michael Jordan trading cards, as well as other sports and Pokémon memorabilia.
Broader Context
Last week a similar burglary in Burbank saw thieves lift nearly $100,000 worth of Pokémon and sports cards. The Burbank owner reported the burglars were in and out within minutes and had taken rare Kobe Bryant and Cristiano Ronaldo cards.
Kit Nguyen, owner of LA Sports Cards, noted, “They started with the Pokémon side,” adding that two people were seen combing through where the collectables are located.
Police Response
The Los Angeles Police Department is actively searching for the perpetrators but has not made any arrests to date. The owner of Cards & Coffee is uncertain whether insurance will cover the losses.
