Bob’s Burgers is staying frozen in time. Creator Loren Bouchard told New York Comic Con attendees that the Belcher kids will never age-and that’s exactly how he wants it.

“We Can’t Know” the Future

Bouchard shot down flash-forward questions during the show’s Oct. 11, 2025 panel. “We try not to have it be objective reality, like the show knows and here’s the facts. That, I think, would not be fair,” he explained.

He doubled down: “The show doesn’t know. We can’t know. We’re treating them like real characters, so none of us know. But we can imagine. The characters can imagine.”

Cast Dreams Up Adult Lives

Voice actors playfully shared head-canon futures anyway:

  • Eugene Mirman sees Gene as a “restaurateur and in a band”
  • Kristen Schaal thinks Louise would be “inventing some kind of new weapon”

Renewal Scorecard

Milestone Status
Seasons aired 16
Seasons ahead 3 (through 19)
Movie release 2022

Fox handed the series a four-season pickup in April, locking in new episodes through Season 19.

Key Takeaways

  • Bouchard insists the show’s charm rests on timeless, ageless stories
  • Episodes like “What About Job?” already let characters daydream about futures without aging them
  • The 300th episode milestone arrived in September, with Bouchard crediting the series’ “gritty, deeper hope” for its longevity

For now, fans can count on more burger-flipping mishaps-and zero birthday candles for Tina, Gene, or Louise.
