The Bridgerton team is already mapping out the romantic arcs for seasons 5 and 6. While season 4 has yet to premiere, showrunner Jess Brownell offered a clear hint about what-and who-comes next.
Pocket-Square Clue Spills the Beans
At the Paris premiere for season 4, part 1 on January 14, Brownell wore a white pocket square embroidered with the letters E and F. She told Deadline that “both characters with the initials on my pocket square will get seasons in 5 and 6.”
Brownell declined to specify the order, saying only, “In what order? I can’t say.”
The initials point to Eloise Bridgerton (Claudia Jessie) and Francesca Bridgerton (Hannah Dodd), two siblings whose love stories have yet to take the spotlight.
Season 5 Scripts Already in Motion
Executive producer Shonda Rhimes confirmed in October 2025 that the writers’ room is already in session for season 5.
“The writers are in the writer’s room working on that, so I know what season 5 is all about from beginning to end,” Rhimes said on Sirius XM.
She added a tease: season 5 is “a really sexy season … But then again, I say that about season 4. They’re just sexy in different ways, and I think that’s what’s great.”
What Viewers Can Expect from Season 4
Season 4 follows Benedict Bridgerton (Luke Thompson) and his Cinderella-style romance with Sophie Baek (Yerin Ha). The official logline describes Benedict as “loath to settle down” until he meets “a captivating Lady in Silver at his mother’s masquerade ball.”
Netflix will release the eight-episode season in two parts:
- Part 1 – January 29, 2026
- Part 2 – February 26, 2026
The series, adapted from Julia Quinn’s novels, was renewed for both seasons 5 and 6 in May 2025. Quinn previously told News Of Los Angeles that producers “had a long plan and were really thinking about all the books” from the start.
