In the upcoming season premiere of Beat Bobby Flay, the chef’s girlfriend and fellow competitor Brooke Williamson, 47, isn’t holding back on fashion critiques.
The Tease
“I feel like you didn’t bring your A game when it came to the wardrobe department today,” Williamson tells Flay, 61, in a promo clip posted to the Food Network’s Instagram. Wearing a bright melon-hued dress, she delivers the jab while Flay stands in a soft black, long-sleeved collared shirt under an apron, grating cheese.
“You think I’m looking kind of ordinary?” Flay asks.
“You’re looking a little ordinary,” she replies. “As long as your food tastes good, I guess that’s all that matters.”
Working Together
Last month, a fan asked Flay on Instagram, “Is it weird to compete against Brooke?”
“Not really. She’s fun to compete against because she’s so competitive,” he answered.
Williamson reposted the exchange on her Stories, adding “Obvi.”

Ring Clarification
After the diamond ring photo surfaced, a source close to the couple told News Of Losangeles exclusively that they were not engaged.

At the New York City Wine & Food Festival, Williamson downplayed the jewelry: “There isn’t a huge story behind it. [Bobby is] a very generous, wonderful, romantic man and it was a really thoughtful gift, and that’s what it is.”
Flay later explained, “It’s a commitment ring. I’m not engaged. We both don’t want to get married again. It’s okay. So, like, it’s great having a life partner. And so I wanted to give her something significant to make her feel committed. That’s all.”
Family Life
Flay has a 29-year-old daughter, Sophie, from his previous marriage to Kate Connelly. Williamson shares 17-year-old son Hudson with ex-husband Nick Roberts.
“It’s all coming together like The Brady Bunch,” Flay joked.
Shared Passions
In a June interview with News Of Losangeles, Flay highlighted their common ground: “We are both in the restaurant business. We have tons to talk about in terms of the things that we love to do besides just go and have dinner every once in a while. So it’s been really great.”
He added, “One of the things I really like about being in a relationship with Brooke is that she’s great to bounce things off of. Like we ask each other’s opinion about things that we’re doing food-wise or restaurant-wise or business-wise, all the time. So it’s really nice to have kind of a best friend that you’re dating that can also be helpful answering the questions that you have.”
