Three weeks after NASCAR champion Greg Biffle, his wife Cristina, and five others perished in a plane crash, burglars broke into the couple’s Mooresville estate and stole $30,000 in cash plus a $30 backpack, according to authorities.

Break-In Discovered

Cristina’s mother, Cathy Grossu, alerted the Iredell County Sheriff’s Office after finding signs of the intrusion. Deputies arrived at the Doolie Road property at 6:23 p.m. on Jan. 8 and documented the missing items in their report.

In addition to the cash and backpack, investigators noted that two firearms and pieces of NASCAR memorabilia could also be gone. The total value of confirmed losses stands at $30,030, not counting the potentially missing collectibles.

No suspects have been identified and no arrests have been made. A department spokesperson declined to release further details while the investigation remains active.
