A New York dad is transforming one of parenting’s most dreaded tasks into viral entertainment. Alex Foley has been creating spontaneous jingles during diaper changes for his daughter London, turning the messy necessity into musical moments that have captured millions of views online.
From Stress to Song
Foley began singing to London during diaper changes when they first brought her home five months ago. What started as impromptu entertainment during a difficult time became something much more meaningful.
“In those early weeks, Giorgina was suffering from postpartum depression, and I was honestly just doing whatever I could to make her laugh,” Foley explains. His partner Giorgina Martino began filming when he would create songs on the spot.
The unexpected result: diaper changes became something London actively enjoys rather than endures.
“Diaper changes are usually framed as this stressful or dreaded part of parenting, but for us, they became something our daughter actually looks forward to,” says Foley. “She smiles the whole time, and it’s turned into a moment we all enjoy.”
The Creative Process
Most songs are spontaneous remixes of popular tracks. Foley reacts to whatever’s happening during the change – the diaper, creams, or mess – grabbing London’s foot as a microphone to create impromptu lyrics.
“Sometimes an idea will pop into my head earlier in the day, and I’ll hum it to myself, but there’s no real process,” he tells News Of Los Angeles. “The fun part is that it doesn’t have to be perfect. It’s just about being present and silly with her.”
His musical background helps. Foley has spent his career writing songs for Nickelodeon, Marvel and other major projects. He constantly makes up songs about anything around the house.
Beyond Entertainment
The benefits extend beyond viral fame. London “lights up” when hearing her parents sing, and the songs may help with her speech and development. But for Foley, the primary reward is immediate.
“Knowing that singing can also help with her speech and development is a nice bonus, but really it’s just about seeing her happy and smiling in that moment,” he says.

Community Response
The TikTok videos have generated nearly 12 million collective views. Parents worldwide have responded with overwhelming positivity to the family’s musical approach.
“The comments are incredibly thoughtful, and it’s been really moving to see how many parents say the videos resonated with them or helped them,” Foley says. “The best part is hearing that we’ve inspired other parents to have a little more fun with routines that can sometimes feel repetitive, mundane or plain exhausting!”
The family has received thousands of requests for a song album and is exploring how to make that happen.
“We want to give the people what they want! But, for now we’re really enjoying sharing these small, real moments from our family,” Foley continues.
