The Oconee County Sheriff’s Office released a statement on social media confirming the coroner’s identification of the couple and announcing an active homicide probe. Investigators have not disclosed how the Moores died or whether any suspects have been identified.
Investigators Seek Video Evidence
Detectives are requesting that residents along Cromer Moore Road and nearby streets check surveillance systems for recordings captured between Tuesday evening, Jan. 13, and Thursday morning, Jan. 15. Church Community Mourns
Calvary Church, where the Moores were longtime members, posted a Facebook tribute after learning of the couple’s deaths.
“Please join us in lifting the entire Moore family-and all who loved them-in your prayers during this difficult time,” the message read.
Parishioners described Larry and Sandra as devoted to the congregation and regularly attended services and volunteer activities. Church leaders asked members to respect the family’s privacy while the criminal investigation continues.
Case Remains Active
The sheriff’s office has not said whether deputies responded to the home because of a 911 call or if a family member discovered the couple. Autopsy results are pending, and officials have not revealed whether any weapons were recovered from the scene.
