Nikki Glaser opened her second straight Golden Globes hosting gig by taking aim at Leonardo DiCaprio’s dating history, landing a crack about the 51-year-old actor’s much younger girlfriends that drew laughter and a nod of agreement from DiCaprio himself.
Glaser, returning to the Beverly Hilton stage on January 11, 2026, praised DiCaprio’s nominated performance in “One Battle After Another.”
> “It’s insane, so vaping good,” she said, ticking off his accolades. “What a career you’ve had. I mean, countless iconic performances, you’ve worked with every great director. You’ve won three Golden Globes, an Oscar.”
Then came the punchline:
> “And the most impressive thing is that you were able to accomplish all of that before your girlfriend turned 30. I mean, it’s just insane.”
Cameras caught DiCaprio laughing and nodding. The actor’s 27-year-old girlfriend, model Vittoria Ceretti, was not in attendance; the couple had recently vacationed together in St. Barts.
Glaser immediately addressed the jab:
> “Leo, I’m sorry I made that joke, it’s cheap, I tried not to.”
She added that DiCaprio’s guarded public persona left her little else to mock:
> “We don’t know anything else about you, man. There’s nothing else… I searched; the most in-depth interview you’ve ever given was in Teen Beat in 1991. Is your favorite food still ‘pasta, pasta and more pasta’?”
DiCaprio responded from his table, mouthing “yeah” and giving a thumbs-up.
The host pivoted to fellow nominee Timothée Chalamet, star of “Marty Supreme.” The film, about a self-confident table-tennis hustler, earned Chalamet a Best Actor nomination and the movie a Best Motion Picture, Musical/Comedy nod. Writers Josh Safdie and Ronald Bronstein are also up for Best Screenplay.
> “What a dedicated performance you gave,” Glaser said. “The first actor in history to put on muscle for a movie about ping pong. He gained over 60 ounces, it’s insane.”
She saved a meta-comment for Julia Roberts, nominated for Best Actress in a Drama for “After the Hunt.” Roberts has long been considered a tough target for comedians.
> “Just like Wicked, I’m back for a sequel,” Glaser began her monologue. “Just like Frankenstein I’ve been pieced together by an unlicensed European surgeon. Just like the podcasters nominated tonight, I should not be allowed to be this close to Julia Roberts.”
Roberts flashed her trademark smile.

Ahead of the telecast, Glaser told News Of Losangeles partner CBS Mornings that balancing jokes for the room and viewers at home is delicate:
> “You have to be very delicate about making jokes that aren’t going to ruin anyone’s night. But you also want to give the people at home something to laugh at, and you want to poke fun at the people that they’re dying for you to make fun of. People at home want you to make fun of the A-listers.”
The 2026 Golden Globes aired on CBS and streamed on Paramount+. Daniel J. Whitman reported on the event for News Of Losangeles.
