Kurt Warner’s journey from undrafted grocery clerk to Super Bowl MVP is legendary, but the 2000 Super Bowl MVP says his seven children remain his true motivation. The Hall of Fame quarterback and wife Brenda built a family that spans adopted sons with disabilities, an NFL hopeful, an actress, a college quarterback and equestrian twins.
The Seven Kids Who Changed Everything
The Warner family includes Zack Taylor, Jesse Jo, Kade Eugene, Jada Jo, Elijah Storm, Sierra Rose and Sienna Rae. Each arrived with distinct stories that reshaped Kurt’s definition of success.
Zack Taylor Warner, 36
Born April 25, 1989 to Brenda and her first husband, Zack suffered a brain injury as a baby leaving him blind with developmental disabilities. Kurt adopted Zack after marrying Brenda in 1997.
“If there’s anybody that’s given me perspective in life as I’ve gone through this whole entire journey it’s that young man right there,” Kurt told Joe Buck. “You never hear him complain. You never hear him say ‘Why me?'”
Zack inspired the couple to create Treasure House, a Phoenix nonprofit where adults with intellectual disabilities live independently. Zack resides in his own apartment within the community. Brenda celebrated his 35th birthday in April 2024 calling him “funny, smart, determined” and noting he “flirts endlessly with middle aged married women.”
Jesse Jo Stanton, 34
Born January 15, 1992, Jesse was also adopted by Kurt after his marriage to Brenda. During Kurt’s third Super Bowl appearance with Arizona in 2009, reporters spotted a note from Jesse on his playbook reading she was proud of him.
“It was neat to get that from her,” Kurt told The Boston Herald. “Even though we’re in the midst of the biggest game…it’s a reminder to me of what’s really important.”
Jesse met husband Daniel Stanton through pickup basketball games Kurt organized in Phoenix. They married in 2015 and have two children, making Kurt a grandfather to Nola Blue and Romy Wilde. Jesse owns Freja Creative, designing custom stationery and wedding signage.
Following Dad Onto the Field
Kade Eugene Warner, 27
Born September 29, 1998, Kade mirrored his father’s unconventional football path. The wide receiver walked on at Nebraska after receiving no scholarship offers, eventually transferring to Kansas State.
“I can lean a lot on my dad throughout this process,” Kade told NFL Path to the Draft. Like Kurt, he went undrafted in 2023 before signing with Tampa Bay Buccaneers. His NFL debut came against Pittsburgh Steelers in the same stadium where Kurt played his final Super Bowl.
Kade later played in the XFL with Houston Roughnecks and Brahmas. He married Abby in February 2024 after five years of dating, with Jesse’s company designing their wedding materials.
Elijah Storm Warner, 22
Born November 3, 2003, Elijah became starting quarterback for Rice University Owls in 2024. Kurt claims Elijah surpasses him at the same age.
“I feel like I work hard,” Elijah said at Rice media day. “I like to say I’m mentally fast, not physically fast. I think you’ll see how fast I get the ball out.”
Creative Pursuits Off the Field
Jada Jo Warner, 24
Born February 17, 2001 between Kurt’s two league MVP awards, Jada graduated from USC’s School of Dramatic Arts in 2024. She boasts over 200,000 TikTok followers where she shares acting journey insights.
When Jada texted about not making a short film, Kurt responded: “Ugh sorry kiddo [rejections] suck… but [you] always have to hang on to what you know and not what someone else doesn’t. Your time is coming.”
Jada now shares content about acting, travel and mental health.
Sierra Rose Warner, 20
Born December 19, 2005 as part of twin daughters, Sierra developed passion for horseback riding. She took first place in a 2022 competition with horse Jurisdiction. Sierra began college in 2024, the final Warner child to leave home, attending school close enough that Brenda no longer needs flights to visit.
Sienna Rae Warner, 20
Sienna’s artistic talents emerged in high school where she designed graphics for sports teams and showcased welding photography in galleries. She runs a professional photography Instagram account, regularly shooting family photos including posters for brother Elijah. Sienna enrolled at University of Iowa in 2024.
The Hall of Fame Speech That Said It All
During his 2017 Hall of Fame induction, Kurt addressed his children directly: “ZT, Jesse, Kade, Jada, EJ, Sienna and Sierra; Undeniably, you are my greatest motivators. Now forget about being a better football player. You drove me to be a better man, to be a better father.”
The journey from stocking shelves to Super Bowl glory required relentless determination, but Kurt Warner’s greatest legacy lives through seven children who each found their own path to excellence.
