HGTV Star Reveals Rock the Block Engagement

Leslie Davis, co-host of Unsellable Houses, announced her engagement to Don Reidy, the specialty carpenter she met during season 5 of Rock the Block in 2023. The couple’s romance blossomed from an unexpected friendship formed during the six-week competition in Treasure Island, Florida.

Davis shared the news on Instagram on January 14, writing, “Turns out Rock the Block gave me a win in more than one way,” referencing both her competition victory and finding love. The Washington-based real estate professional and her twin sister Lyndsay Lamb had emerged victorious against teams from Battle on the Beach, Bargain Block, and Fix My Flip.

From Colleagues to Partners

During the intense filming schedule, Reidy focused exclusively on creating custom woodwork for the twins’ luxury waterfront condo. His craftsmanship included building a wood ceiling, pergola, and custom shelves in their loft space. The professional collaboration laid the foundation for what would become a personal relationship.

“He was our specialty carpenter. He worked on mine and Lyndsay’s home exclusively for the entire project, helping us make all of our custom woodwork items,” Davis explained to Marcus L. Bennett. The demanding filming schedule, with crews working from sunup to sundown, created an environment where genuine connections could form.

After production wrapped, Davis and Reidy maintained their friendship through frequent phone calls. What started as professional courtesy evolved into something deeper. “We built a great friendship,” Davis said, noting that the romantic development was “completely unexpected” and that she had “zero clue it would happen.”

Bridging the Distance

The couple faced geographical challenges early in their relationship, with Reidy based in Colorado while Davis lived and worked in Washington. Despite the distance, their connection strengthened through constant communication. “As the months passed after the show ended, we became closer and closer, talking non-stop on the phone and then fell in love,” Davis shared.

Approximately one year after they first met on set, Reidy made the significant decision to relocate to Snohomish, Washington. This move brought him closer to both Davis and her professional life, where she and her twin operate Lamb & Co. Real Estate and film Unsellable Houses.

A Family Proposal

The proposal itself reflected the couple’s adventurous spirit and Reidy’s understanding of what mattered most to Davis. During the holiday break, he orchestrated an elaborate proposal during a snowmobile excursion in Leavenworth, Washington. The setting provided a picturesque backdrop of snow-covered landscapes for the special moment.

What made the proposal particularly meaningful was Reidy’s inclusion of Davis’s three sons – Kyler, Cash, and Cole – whom she shares with her ex-husband Jacob. The boys joined the couple on the snowmobile ride, creating a family-centered memory. “Don popped the question during a snowy Leavenworth snowmobile ride, joined by all three of my boys, which made it even more perfect,” Davis wrote on Instagram.

Looking Ahead

Davis’s emotional Instagram post captured the significance of their journey from television colleagues to life partners. “Don, you are my safe place, my teammate, and my favorite adventure buddy,” she wrote. “What started as a friendship during one of the wildest experiences of my life turned into true love. We were in it together then… and now we’re in it together forever.”

The couple currently lives and works together in Snohomish, though they haven’t set a wedding date yet, according to Davis’s representative. Their story adds a romantic dimension to the typically competitive world of home renovation television, proving that sometimes the most significant transformations happen off-camera.

“Still smiling. Still shocked. Still so excited for this next chapter,” Davis concluded her announcement, expressing the joy of finding love in an unexpected place while doing what she does best – creating beautiful homes.
