A homeless man was fatally shot while inside his tent Sunday night in the Vermont Knolls area, according to the Los Angeles Police Department.
Officers responded to the alley on the 900 block of W. 80th Street at around 10 p.m.

The victim was found inside his tent suffering from gunshot wounds and was pronounced dead at the scene, according to police.
A dog was also found shot to death nearby, according to the LAPD.
There was no information on the suspect or the gunman.
