Sarah, the Georgia influencer known online as @chunkygalsarah, shared devastating news with her followers over the weekend: her miracle baby was born asleep.
In a raw Instagram post, Sarah revealed doctors discovered no heartbeat at a routine OB appointment. She delivered her son at 6:11 p.m. local time on Saturday, January 17 after nearly 12 hours of labor.
“Laboring for nearly 12 hours while hearing newborn cries in the room next door, knowing our outcome would be different is a pain I would not wish on anyone,” she wrote. “The silence in our delivery room was deafening and is a sound I will never forget.”
Sarah and her husband, whom she calls “B” on social media, had announced the pregnancy in November after almost a decade of trying and multiple rounds of IVF. The couple, married nine years, created only one viable embryo and paid for every procedure out of pocket.
“We are shocked. We are devastated. We are that kicking-and-screaming kind of mad because in addition to the regular kind of infertility heartbreak, now second-trimester loss is part of our story too,” Sarah posted.
Sarah has built her platform sharing plus-size fashion and lifestyle content, often documenting her fertility journey for followers. She previously chronicled losing nearly 100 pounds to meet the BMI requirement for anesthesia and enduring countless injections, hormones, and setbacks.
In her November announcement, she recalled:
- Hundreds of negative pregnancy tests
- Lifestyle changes, medications, and supplements
- Invasive procedures for both partners
- One miracle embryo created through science
“After everything, it was all worth it just to see those two lines and hear this little one’s heartbeat,” she had written then, adding that they planned to wait to learn the baby’s gender.
Following the loss, Sarah admitted she is unsure about next steps, noting the couple will need to restart the entire IVF process. “It feels too heavy to even think about right now,” she said.

Sarah ended her post thanking followers for sharing in the joy of her pregnancy and offering support to others facing infertility. “I’ve walked the path and know the heartache. Just know that I’m here to chat if you need an ear or a hug,” she wrote in November, words that now carry new weight.
The influencer signed off her recent update with a broken heart emoji, asking for privacy as she and her husband grieve.
