  • Why it matters: Residents can easily recycle their Christmas trees without extra waste.

After the holiday season, Los Angeles residents face the question of what to do with their Christmas trees. The city provides three convenient options-curbside pickup, designated drop-off locations, and fire-station collection-to ensure trees are recycled responsibly.

Curbside Collection

Place your tree out on a regular trash day before Jan. 31. Cut the tree into sections and put it in your green bin, or if it’s too large, leave it beside the green bin.

After Jan. 31, call 1-800-773-2489 or visit MyLA311 to schedule a bulky item pickup.
