- Cheapest pairs of tickets now listed above $2,800 on major resale sites
- Average purchase price of $4,196 already shatters last year’s record

- Why it matters: Fans face the priciest college football championship on record to see the unbeaten Hoosiers chase history in Miami
College football’s national championship has become a $3,000 minimum investment for anyone trying to get inside Hard Rock Stadium on Monday night. The undefeated No. 1 Indiana Hoosiers will face the No. 10 Miami Hurricanes on the Hurricanes’ home turf, and secondary-market prices are already rewriting the record books.
Ticket Prices Soar Past Previous Record
Data from TickPick shows the average ticket purchase price for the Miami-Indiana matchup has climbed to $4,196, easily eclipsing last season’s Notre Dame-Ohio State title game that set a then-record average of $2,898.
As of Thursday, the least-expensive verified listings for a pair of tickets were:
- $2,822 each on TickPick
- $2,845 each on Vivid Seats
- $2,982 each on SeatGeek
All of those seats sit in the uppermost deck and include fees.
Geography of Demand
Florida residents account for nearly a third of all ticket purchases, according to TickPick:

- 32.2% of buyers list Florida addresses
- 17.4% come from Indiana
- 11.6% are from Illinois
Kyle Zorn, TickPick’s director of content, credited the perfect-storm narrative for the surge. “The fanfare around Indiana, a school that has taken the college football world by storm, is playing a significant role in driving ticket prices,” Zorn said. “Following a massive program overhaul last season under [head coach Curt] Cignetti, Hoosier fans have been eagerly awaiting a chance at their storybook ending.”
Home-Field Advantage Adds Fuel
The championship game’s location adds another layer of demand. Miami is not only playing for a title but doing so in its own stadium. Zorn noted the convergence of storylines: “We’re seeing a notable amount of Indiana fans making the trip for the matchup. You pair that with Miami’s unexpected run and this being a home game, the combination of the two storylines is making it the most in-demand National Championship we’ve seen on record.”
Stakes for Both Teams
Indiana enters at 14-0, chasing the program’s first national championship and hoping to complete a rare perfect season. Miami, in its debut College Football Playoff appearance, can secure its first national title since 2001 and do so in front of a hometown crowd.
The game kicks off Monday night at Hard Rock Stadium in Miami Gardens, Florida.
