Musician Jordan Kahn transformed his wedding ceremony into a living playlist, replacing traditional vows with lyrics from 18 songs that traced his romance with Stephanie Ritter from first sight to lifelong promise.
At a Glance
- Kahn married Ritter on October 6, 2025, at The Ritz-Carlton, Bachelor Gulch
- He crafted vows entirely from song lyrics, starting with “We were both young when I first saw you…” and ending with “This I promise you”
- A 20-piece orchestra and 12-piece brass band kept guests dancing from ceremony to after-party
- Why it matters: The celebration showcases how personal storytelling can turn a wedding into an immersive experience that guests will remember long after the last dance
The co-owner of Jordan Kahn Music Company, who has entertained former presidents and reality-TV elites, wanted every moment of the October 6, 2025, celebration to feel like a curated soundtrack. “I wanted to take our guests on a musical journey through our relationship, from our vows, all the way through to the afterparty,” Kahn tells News Of Los Angeles.
Vows as a Love-Story Playlist
Rather than recite conventional promises, Kahn wove lyrics into a narrative arc. He opened with the line “We were both young when I first saw you…” and closed the vow sequence with NSYNC’s “This I promise you,” turning the declaration of commitment into a chronological medley of milestones.
Dance-Floor-First Reception
Kahn and Ritter entered the reception to Billy Joel’s “Uptown Girl,” a nod to the couple’s early days in New York City. The full 20-piece Jordan Kahn Music Company orchestra-featuring Georgia Bridgwater and Taylor Pace-packed the floor before dinner service began.
The newlyweds extended their first-dance moment, playing the complete track of “This I Promise You” and inviting guests to join halfway through. “Instead of shortening these special moments, we played the full songs… keeping the guests on the dance floor the entire time,” Kahn explains.
Brass Band Parade and Limbo Showdown
A 12-horn brass ensemble blasted through the ceremony recessional and escorted guests to cocktail hour. Later the musicians returned to the ballroom, challenging revelers to a limbo contest beneath their uplifted horns.
Menu of Memories
Dinner highlighted family heritage: dim-sum stations referenced shared histories, while matzo ball soup blended recipes from both grandmothers. Kahn surprised Ritter with her favorite chocolate-chip cookies sourced from an Aspen bakery.
Aspen-Infused Design
Gro Designs crafted an Aspen-orcharch chuppah and lined the reception entrance with towering white-barked trees. Centerpieces reached 20 feet, showcasing autumn hues that mirrored the Colorado mountainside.
Surprise Serenade and Second-Line Exit

Mid-reception, Kahn led Michael Bublé’s “I Only Have Eyes for You,” pivoting the orchestral arrangement into an uptempo dance version that pulled everyone onto the floor. The night ended with the horn section steering guests in a New Orleans-style “second line” to the lobby bar, where celebrity DJ Greg Garman kept the energy alive.
Parting Gift: A Puppy Reveal
As a final twist, Kahn presented Ritter with a new family puppy while “Who Let the Dogs Out” blasted through the speakers.
“Everything about our day was intentional, especially the music,” Kahn reflects. “We felt like our story got to come to life for our loved ones in the most incredible ways… After years of witnessing so many love stories as a musician, having music at the heart of our day made it a dream come to life.”
