At a Glance

  • NBC4 and Telemundo 52 will broadcast the ASICS Los Angeles Marathon from 2026-2029
  • Coverage moves to the finish line with legacy commentator Toni Reavis and Olympian Deena Kastor
  • 25,000 runners will race the Stadium to the Stars course on March 8, 2026
  • Why it matters: The deal brings bilingual coverage to millions across Southern California and national platforms for the first time

The ASICS Los Angeles Marathon has secured a new four-year broadcast home. NBC4 and Telemundo 52 will serve as the exclusive English- and Spanish-language partners starting with the March 8, 2026 race, continuing through at least 2029.

New Partners, Bigger Reach

The agreement marks the first time the marathon will receive sustained national distribution. Coverage will air across the stations’ broadcast channels, digital sites, and streaming apps, reaching both local viewers and audiences nationwide.

Murphy Reinschreiber, COO of race producer The McCourt Foundation, called the deal a milestone:

“The ASICS Los Angeles Marathon is one of the great marathons of the world and NBC4 and Telemundo 52’s suite of platforms allows us the national reach we haven’t previously had,” he said. “With the Olympics coming to Los Angeles, the marathon being an iconic Olympic sport, and NBC4 being the Olympic partner, what better relationship could we have? Adding Telemundo 52 as an outlet is especially gratifying as 38% of the marathon’s participants are Hispanic.”

Production Upgrades for 2026

Award-winning filmmaker Jon Dunham will again co-produce the live show-work that earned an Emmy nomination for the 2024 broadcast. A major change for 2026: the commentary desk shifts from a remote studio to the heart of the action at the finish line on Avenue of the Stars.

Toni Reavis, the marathon’s legacy voice, returns for his 41st year alongside three-time Olympian Deena Kastor. The on-site location is designed to capture the energy of thousands of spectators lining the final stretch.

“It takes a highly skilled and dedicated team to create live coverage of a major city marathon. We are excited to work with KNBC and Tata Communications, to deliver the highest quality broadcast,” Dunham said. “The production will be supported by NBC4 and take place at Tata Communications’ facility The Switch @ Victory Studios. Adam Schneider of SportFive facilitated our relationship with NBC4 and Telemundo 52 and will be exploring international distributions.”

Community-Focused Coverage

Todd Mohktari, President & General Manager of Telemundo 52 & NBC4, framed the partnership as a celebration of local diversity:

“Partnering with the ASICS Los Angeles Marathon allows us to celebrate one of the city’s most iconic events and deliver coverage that reflects the diversity of Southern California,” he said. “Through NBC4 and Telemundo 52, along with our digital and streaming platforms, we’re proud to deliver every inspiring moment in both English and Spanish, connecting communities and making this world-class event accessible to all.”
