Paramount+ Renews Landman for Season 3

The hit Paramount+ series Landman has been renewed for a third season, continuing its exploration of the ruthless West Texas oil fields. The announcement came in December 2025 while season 2 was only three episodes in.

At a Glance

  • Landman renewed for season 3 on December 5, 2025
  • Season 2 delivered 9.2 million views worldwide in its first few days
  • Billy Bob Thornton signed on for multiple seasons
  • Season 3 will follow Tommy’s new company backed by cartel leader Gallino

Created by Taylor Sheridan, Landman centers on Tommy Norris (Billy Bob Thornton), a sharp-tongued landman navigating high-stakes oil deals in the Permian Basin. The series is inspired by the 2019 Texas Monthly podcast Boomtown.

Season 3 Confirmed

Paramount+ officially renewed Landman for a third season on December 5, 2025. The renewal came early in season 2’s run, highlighting the show’s strong performance.

“This world is so rich – West Texas, oil and gas, Fort Worth, the upstairs downstairs of this whole thing. It’s such fertile soil for storytelling. There’s a lot of runway left,” showrunner Christian Wallace told The Hollywood Reporter.

Season 2’s premiere became the biggest season or series premiere in Paramount+ history, pulling in 9.2 million views worldwide in its first few days.

Cast Returns

Billy Bob Thornton will return as Tommy Norris. In November 2025, Thornton told USA Today he had signed on for “four or five” years of Landman, adding he’ll stay “for as long as they’ll have me.”

Ali Larter, who plays Tommy’s ex-wife Angela, confirmed her return on Instagram: “So excited to announce we are coming back for season 3! Thank you to the fans that have made Landman such a massive success.”

Kayla Wallace, who portrays Rebecca, also confirmed her return: “BEST NEWS! THANK YOU to everyone who’s watched, supported and loved our show!”

While Paramount+ hasn’t announced an official cast list, several fan favorites are expected to return:

  • Sam Elliott as T.L.
  • Andy Garcia as Gallino
  • Demi Moore as Cami
  • Michelle Randolph as Ainsley
  • Jacob Lofland as Cooper
  • Paulina Chávez as Ariana

Season 3 Storyline

An official synopsis for Landman season 3 has not been released. However, season 2 ended with Tommy’s sudden firing from M-Tex by Cami (Demi Moore).

In the finale, Tommy formed his own company, CTT Oil Exploration and Cattle, with:

  • T.L. (Sam Elliott)
  • Cooper (Jacob Lofland)
  • Nathan (Colm Feore)
  • Rebecca (Kayla Wallace)
  • Dale (James Jordan)

The new company is financially backed by cartel leader Gallino (Andy Garcia). Season 3 will follow the immediate fallout and how this impacts Tommy’s power within the oil world.

Production Timeline

Season 2 arrived roughly a year after the debut season. Wallace indicated the show will maintain a similar release cadence moving forward.

“I think it’s the plan. We hate to make people wait too long, and we’re all excited to get back and do it again,” Wallace told The Hollywood Reporter. “After we wrap, a couple weeks later, we’re like, ‘Dang, I miss everybody’ – cast and crew.”

Where to Watch

All episodes of Landman seasons 1 and 2 are available to stream on Paramount+.

The series continues to explore the complex world of oil deals, power struggles, and family dynamics in West Texas, with Wallace noting: “We barely skimmed the surface in season one and, after season two, I feel like we’re still just skimming the surface.”
