The black-and-white photo shows the newborn nestled against Edwards’ chest while Oxlade-Chamberlain and Axel each rest a hand on their baby sister. The family moment marks a joyous turn after years of private heartbreak.
Edwards, 32, had candidly shared her experiences with miscarriage on the August 2025 episode of the We Need to Talk podcast. She described losing pregnancies both before and after Axel’s birth, including one while rehearsing for Little Mix’s final tour.
“I haven’t necessarily not shared it with people because I’m ashamed of it or anything,” she said. “It’s just that it’s such a personal thing to go through, and it’s really hard.”
During that tour, Edwards experienced heavy bleeding every night before performances. Doctors discovered a blood clot around the gestational sac, but the baby survived. Tragically, she and Oxlade-Chamberlain lost the child at the 22-week scan.
“The whole experience was very traumatic,” she told Glamour in September 2025, calling that day “the worst day of my life – like horrendous.”
The couple announced their second pregnancy in September 2025 with an Instagram Reel. Edwards wore a cropped T-shirt reading “If he wanted to he would…” before turning to reveal the back: “…and he did.” The clip featured Oxlade-Chamberlain hugging her and Axel kissing her belly.
By Christmas, Edwards shared their festive joy while acknowledging her pregnancy challenges. “I’m the size of a beach whale 🤰🏼… need fork lifting off the sofa… but my goodness I feel content and blessed,” she wrote on Dec. 25.

Little Mix bandmates quickly celebrated Alanis’ arrival. Jade Thirlwall commented, “So happy for you all ♥️. And can’t wait to meet her ✨.” Leigh-Anne Pinnock called the baby a “perfect little angel.”
Edwards and Oxlade-Chamberlain, both 32, began dating in 2017. Their son Axel arrived on Aug. 21, 2021.
The singer’s journey from recurrent loss to holding her daughter highlights a story of resilience. By sharing both pain and joy publicly, she has offered a raw look at pregnancy after loss – a narrative rarely discussed so openly in pop culture.
