The Acceptance Speech

“I’m going to do my best,” Seehorn said from the stage, laughing as she admitted she forgot to pick up beta-blockers before the show. “My speech says get a prescription for beta-blockers, but I did not, sorry.”

She thanked fellow nominees Kathy Bates, Britt Lower, Helen Mirren, Bella Ramsey, and Keri Russell, then pivoted to creator Vince Gilligan and the cast and crew. A special nod went to partner Graham Larson and their sons Gray and McLain.

“I’m still so grateful that I get to do this for a living,” she said, “and this is incredible icing on that cake.”

Inside Pluribus

Seehorn plays Carol Sturka, a romance novelist forced to save humanity from an alien virus that leaves infected humans deliriously happy. Gilligan, who also created Better Call Saul, told News Of Losangeles he “missed writing good guys” and praised Seehorn’s “troubled and imperfect hero” performance.
